Courtney Edwards documented the birth of an elephant seal pup named Hector at about 10 a.m. His mother, called Jolene in the account, had arrived a week earlier.

Great Race Rock

Anne Stewart observed a young female northern elephant seal known at the reserve as Crankypants, with visible skin wounds. She read right-hand tag A114; she considered the less legible left-hand tag possibly A476. No diagnosis is assigned here.
