Nick Townley photographed a Steller sea lion carrying brand 966R during a field census. A later identification update from NOAA researcher Pat Gearin described the animal as a male branded as a pup at Rogue Reef, Oregon, in July 2011.

Middle Rocks, Race Rocks

The ecoguardians observed an older bull elephant seal on Middle Rocks accompanied by two much smaller elephant seals. The account does not establish the smaller animals’ ages or relationships.
