Observation: Nick Townley photographed a Steller sea lion carrying brand 966R during a field census. A later identification update from NOAA researcher Pat Gearin described the animal as a male branded as a pup at Rogue Reef, Oregon, in July 2011.

Observation: Alex Fletcher filmed a mother elephant seal and her newborn pup during the afternoon and evening. The afternoon sequence shows the pup seeking milk before nursing had begun. The reserve identified the mother as Bertha.
