Race Rocks
The ecoguardians counted 13 elephant seals in the afternoon: 12 hauled out on Middle Rock and one large male floating near the shore.

Chris Blondeau reported four adult male elephant seals hauled out on Middle Rock.

The ecoguardians watched four harbour seals trying to balance on a floating log in the kelp east of Great Race Rock. The observation lasted about 35 minutes before the tide carried the log into the channel and the seals slipped off.

Sunny Ashcroft recorded the behaviour of 10 sea lions from noon to 1 pm during a field exercise at Race Rocks. The report describes a mixed group and records resting, grooming and movement on the rocks. The 10 animals were the observation sample, not a reserve-wide census.
